Why I Would Make This Simple Pizza Toast Again

Zoomed in on baked Italian sausage pizza toast

When I crave cheese or bread, I would most definitely bake pizza toast because I now have a recipe that is simple and flexible. The hot bread with melted cheese would be ready in very little time!

Here are links to the pizza toast journey:

I was searching for cooking classes in Texas and a quick and easy recipe popped up on my search results, the type I normally look for when I want to cook something.

My Story

I usually don’t eat pizza or toast unless it was selected by someone else or the best available choice at the time. My go-to dishes are ones that go well with rice and can easily be reheated for a future meal.

However, since I had a pizza toast recipe that promised to be both quick and easy, I wanted to try it.

Inspiring Recipe

My family eats pizza almost on a weekly basis, so why not try The BakerMama’s recipe for pizza toast? The beautiful images also pulled me.

First Try

Since this was the first time using the recipe, I wanted to stick to it as closely as possible.

Ingredients to Use

Even though the recipe was written for six slices of toast, the ingredients for one serving were also included, so I easily scaled up the recipe for eight pieces. The only other thing I tweaked was to use a baking pan greased with a little oil, instead of a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray, due to what was available in the kitchen.

Second Try

I couldn’t wait to retry this recipe with a different meat topping!

Ingredients to Use

This time I kept with the recipe and made six slices of toast. However, instead of using pepperoni slices, I wanted to top the slices of brioche with Italian sausage.

Steps to Prepare

Since I was using raw meat, I cooked it in a skillet according to the package instructions.

Also, remembering that the bread was too soft the first time around, I wanted to bake the bread slices for more than five minutes, which I ended up doing for seven minutes.

Lastly, I wanted all the ingredients to be hotter than last time, so I planned to bake everything for more than ten minutes.

Time to Eat

After baking the pan of pizza toast for eleven minutes, the cheese was nicely melted:
